The Upside Down Bar at the Art’otel Berlin
Today we are going to introduce you the Upside Down Bar and Restaurant at the Art’otel Berlin. The bar is located right in the center of Berlin and to be more precise, it is located in the historic Ermelerhaus. The building dates back to the 17th century, has beautiful stucco decorations, high ceilings and is decorated in the style of late baroque, rococo. The walls have original work from the artist Georg Baselitz. The artist, whose works are in museums, was famous for his paintings, which were paint upside down. This is why the name of the trendy bar is called “Upside Down”
The berliner bar organizes regularly events with live DJ. There are for example the Funky Jazz evenings for all the jazz lovers out there. Also every last Wednesday of the month there is a theme evening dedicated to a drink. Guests can learn from the bartender things such as: how to make the perfect drink. For 20€ per person you can also brunch every second Sunday of the month.
The photo shows the view from the bartender. The view goes directly into the entrance hall with deep armchairs. Likewise, the bartender has a view into the dining area thanks to the open columns.
Menu at the Upside Down Bar & Restaurant
The restaurant offers light snacks and small dishes in the Mediterranean style. The philosophy of the restaurant is to be able to share the food with friends in a good and lovely atmosphere.. Lifestyle blogger and food blogger from Berlin were invited to sit together in a table to taste the menu. We ate all night long! There were delicious tapas, crabs, sandwiches with egg and fries, meatballs, chorizo croquettes, ravioli and tarte flambée.
I drank the of the homemade Christmas drink that really tasted like Christmas with cinnamon. The drink is not on the menu. You have to ask the barkeeper for this! It is a new creation and I can definitely recommend it.
If you get hungry while drinking a cocktail in the Upside Down Bar at the Art’otel Berlin Mitte you can order for example from the Small & Sharing Section delicious hummus with homemade bread and mixed olives. Also super suitable are the different tartes as for example with Ruccula, Bacon and Avocado.
